         Monique Antoinette Brooks

California Native Monique Antoinette Brooks serves as a long-standing member and the First
Lady alongside her husband, Senior Pastor Terry Wayne Brooks, at Bayview Church in San
Diego, CA.

Monique is a passionate advocate for education who earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in
Interdisciplinary Studies, focusing on Pre-Kindergarten to 8th Grade, from Western Governors
University. She has applied her degree in the field of education by working as a Teacher’s
Assistant at Nubia Leadership Academy, a Site Coordinator at Valencia Park Elementary
School, and a Before and After School Program Site Director with the Lemon Grove School
District for over nine years.

During her time as a Site Director, Monique became a trusted confidant and emotional support
for students, parents, and many of her colleagues. This experience sparked a desire in her to
assist individuals in coping with their emotional challenges and life circumstances through
counseling. Guided by her faith, she pursued further education and earned a Master of Arts
Degree in Leadership Ministry, with a focus on Christian Counseling from Faith International
University. After completing her degree, Monique committed herself to fulfilling her God-given
purpose by developing a ministry within her church. This ministry focuses on educating and
counseling individuals in areas such as mental health, marriage and family counseling, and
addiction and recovery, all from a faith-based perspective.

Monique is a dedicated full-time Christian counselor who also takes on numerous additional
roles. She has served as the Music Ministry Director for the Youth and Young Adult Choir,
known as "ChoZen." In addition, she has coordinated and facilitated the Single & Parenting
Ministry and acted as a Bible teacher. Currently, Monique is an active member of the Bayview
Worship Team, serves as a Small Group Facilitator, is the Women’s Ministry Coach, and is the
Director of the #iChooseLife Youth Leadership Development Program.

Alongside her husband and Bayview Church family, in partnership with World Vision, Monique
organized an initiative that collected 29,000 feminine hygiene products and raised funds for the
construction of a Menstrual Hygiene Room for girls in Rwanda, Africa, which will officially open
in summer 2025.

Moreover, she is a Mental Health Advocate and trains others in Mental Health First Aid.
Monique is also certified as a QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer) Trainer for suicide prevention
through Community Health Improvement Partners. She also serves as a Champion
Trainer/Facilitator with the Stepping Higher Institute.

Remarkably, during the pandemic, Monique became a Certified Pilates Mat Instructor and
Personal Trainer, and she published her first book titled "From a Mess to a Miracle."
Monique actively seeks spiritual growth outside of her ministry by studying the Word of God.
She enjoys exploring various genres of books, experimenting with new recipes, and traveling.

Monique finds joy not only in serving God’s people through her ministry involvement but also in
her role as a loving and attentive wife and mother to her two sons, Jordan and Amarion.
